Nestled in the heart of Lawson, Arkansas, Abe's Ole Feed House is a cherished seafood restaurant that delivers an authentic Southern dining experience with every visit. Known for its hearty, all-you-can-eat (AYCE) buffet, this local gem invites guests to indulge in a comforting mix of Southern favorites and fresh seafood, making it a must-visit for lovers of home-style cooking.
From the moment you arrive, it’s clear that Abe’s Ole Feed House is much more than just a meal; it’s a warm, familial gathering place where the food and hospitality both leave a lasting impression. The restaurant’s cozy dining area, complemented by additional seating upstairs and near the cashier, creates a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the down-to-earth charm of Southern hospitality. Guests often find themselves waiting patiently before opening hours or shortly after, a testament to the restaurant’s popularity and the tender, flavorful food that awaits.
The menu is a treasure trove of comfort food delights. Savor the crispy, golden fried shrimp and boiled shrimp that balance perfectly between succulent and tender, bursting with the fresh flavors of the sea. Hot water cornbread offers a pleasantly unexpected twist—warm, slightly sweet, and the perfect partner to dishes like red beans and rice or the soul-soothing chicken and dumplings. Each dish is crafted with care, evoking the deep-rooted culinary traditions of the South. Not to be missed is their famed bread pudding—a luscious, warmly spiced dessert that Adrienne Holt praises as “amazing,” and a perfect sweet finale to a satisfying meal.
The staff at Abe’s Ole Feed House play an integral role in crafting the dining experience. Guests consistently highlight the polite, attentive service that makes everyone feel like part of the family. The friendly team’s dedication to quality and warmth enhances the inviting atmosphere, reassuring you that you’re not just another customer but a valued guest.
Many diners note that if you leave Abe’s hungry, it’s simply your own doing—a testament to the generous portions served. The bustling environment and steady stream of customers speak volumes about the trust and loyalty Abe’s has built over time. Whether you’re coming for a casual dinner, a family gathering, or catering services—like the church event praised for both food and service—Abe’s Ole Feed House stands as a beacon of Southern culinary tradition and genuine hospitality.
If you’re planning a visit, be sure to arrive early to beat the line and secure a spot for your party. The only minor drawback is seating constraints during peak hours, but the exceptional quality of the food more than compensates for this. Complement your meal with a classic fountain-style soft drink, or treat yourself to what many call the “best Dr. Pepper in the whole world,” as Pam Gray excitedly shares.
For anyone craving a heartfelt Southern seafood feast in a warm, inviting setting, Abe’s Ole Feed House is an unforgettable destination that invites you back time and again.

We've eaten at this AYCE several times. Be prepared to wait early before opening, or wait after opening. Abe's has a small Dining area with extra seating upstairs, and next to the cashier. Most foods are fried, along with hot water cornbread, boiled shrimp, greens, corn on the cob, red beans and rice, chicken and dumplings and other Southern favorites. Soft drinks are, available in fountain style along with a good choice of desserts which had their Famous Cinnamon Rolls, Bread Pudding with sauce and a cobbler. Personally they need help with flavor in their sides. Greens had little flavor, they lacked smoked meat and the usual flavor from Smoked meats. The fish fillets tasted like salt was added after frying.

Our first time here. Arrived around 5:45. The line was long and took around 15 minutes to pay for our meal and get to the buffet By then there was only two tables in restaurant left that only sat two people so our party of 4 had to be at separate tables next to each other but facing different directions. The food was great so made up for the table disappointment. This place I guess is really popular so I’m hoping the owners can remodel and add additional dining rooms soon. They had to hold up the line of people that were behind us for probably 10-20 minutes waiting on tables to become available. Which is ok except the line wove between the tables where people were eating which takes away from the enjoyment of eating your food with people watching you wishing you’d hurry up so they could have your table. Lol The cashier was nice. The staff was hurrying around refilling trays of food and cleaning tables. The desserts were the standard ice cream with different toppings available, bread pudding, peach cobbler and cinnamon buns. Would come again if I knew what time to come without the long wait. Going back for seconds impossible the first 30-40 minutes they open so over fill your plates and hope you don’t waste too much food.

We've eaten in with little wait & the food was great. Abe's Old Feed House catered a recent gathering for our church. The service was great & so was the food! We will use them again if we need catering.
